These Terms and Conditions govern contracts for software development and related digital services between Syntax Link Limited(“Syntax Link”, “we”, “us”) and a consumer — an individual who is acting for purposes wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, craft, or profession.
If you are a business client, our Business Terms & Conditions apply instead.
1. About us

2. Your order and our acceptance
When you accept a written quote or proposal from us, you are making an offer to purchase our services. A contract is formed when we confirm our acceptance in writing (email is sufficient).
We will provide you with a clear description of the services, the total price in GBP (including VAT where applicable), payment terms, and an estimated delivery timeline before you commit.
2a. Your right to cancel — 14-day cooling-off period
Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel a contract within 14 days of formation without giving any reason.
However: if you ask us to begin work before the 14-day period ends, you acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once the services are fully performed. If you cancel after work has started but before completion, you will be charged a pro-rata amount for the work completed up to the point of cancellation.
To cancel, contact us at hello@syntax-link.co.uk with your name, contact details, and a clear statement of cancellation.
Refunds for eligible cancellations will be made within 14 days using your original payment method. See our Refund Policy for full details.
3. Prices and payment
All prices are in GBP (pounds sterling) and include VAT where applicable. Your quote will clearly state the total cost and any payment milestones.
Payments are collected by invoice. We accept bank transfer, debit/credit card (via Stripe), and other methods confirmed at the time of quoting.
4. What you can expect from us
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have the right to expect that our services will:
- Be performed with reasonable care and skill.
- Conform to the agreed specification.
- Be performed within a reasonable time.
If we do not meet these standards, you may be entitled to a repeat performance or, if that is not possible or we refuse, a price reduction or refund. Please contact us in the first instance.
5. Intellectual property
On receipt of full payment, Syntax Link will transfer ownership of custom-developed Deliverables to you. Open-source components remain subject to their respective licences. Pre-existing Syntax Link tools and frameworks are licensed to you on a perpetual basis for your personal or business use.
6. Our liability to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
We do not exclude or limit our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; breach of the terms implied by the Consumer Rights Act 2015; or any other matter where it would be unlawful to do so.
Subject to the above, our total liability will not exceed the total Fees you have paid us.
7. Complaints
If you have a complaint about our services, please contact us at hello@syntax-link.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 business days and aim to resolve it within 14 days.
If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may consider alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services or contact Citizens Advice at citizensadvice.org.uk.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by English law. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. As a consumer in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
